Unilever reported that third quarter profit fell 44% because of charges partly related to a restructuring effort and large interest payment. Third quarter net income fell more than 40% to nearly $430 million. The results include charges related to restructuring and the integration of Bestfoods, which Unilever acquired a year ago. Sales for the quarter rose 13% to more than $12.2 billion.
